I was finishing up my show at a store when a little boy decked out in a dinosaur coat and his father came up to show me something they had just purchased.... it was a ukulele! The little boy's father shared with me that they had only intended to stop into the store for a moment but decided to stay when they saw I was setting up. Now this really struck a chord with me; apparently as they were leaving the little boy stopped and pointed to something on the shelf. Dad initially thought he was pointing to the dinosaur but that wasn't what he wanted. He wanted the uke. Dad went on to say that I had inspired his son to want to play the ukulele! I looked at the little guy and asked, "Are you gonna be a rock star?!" His eyes lit up and he nodded excitedly. THAT is why I do what I do! XO

As I was packing up my bag at the end of a show, a little girl about the age of 2 walked up to me and pulled on my dress to get my attention. I turned to her and she said, "Bye-bye??" She had a very serious look in her eye and so I answered very seriously, "Yes, I have to go bye-bye now." She immediately pouted and both of her arms stiffened in defiance, "No Bye-Bye!!!" She then proceeded to stomp away to find her caregiver. At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to stay and sing songs to this little munchkins heart was content. It felt good to know she wanted me there. XO
